With many things closed, gatherings banned, borders closed, and travel a thing of the past, we are being forced to do what Henry David Thoreau told us so many years ago: simplify, simplify, simplify. Isolation and physical distancing might be the simplest of gifts. All around us are new choices, new shadows, and new healing.
