Pride Marching Band 6.6.26

It’s time to put together our PRIDE marching band for the upcoming Dairy Princess Parade, which is Saturday, June 6th. We march (walk, saunter, dance) for LGBTQIA+ rights and visibility, advocate for equal protection under the law and to build community. Please join us, whether or not you play an instrument. We make a joyful noise and are a positive presence at this annual event!

We’ll play our signature tune, “We Are Family”. Listen to the music here:

We will meet the day of the parade at 11:00 a.m. in the Unitarian-Universalist Church Social Room to practice the music. If you prefer to just show up for the parade, we will line up for the parade between 12:15 and 12:30 in the back parking lot of the Canton Municipal Building on Judson Street, just steps away from downtown and adjacent to the UU Church. The parade steps off at 1:00 p.m.

Please share with friends–In this time of eroding rights, our visibility is more important than ever.

Let Jill Rubio know if you need the music, and she will send you a pdf of your part that you may print. Hard copies will be available the day of the parade. A small collection of lyres that attach to instruments will also be provided. We always need drummers! If you’re a percussionist, marching drums or tambourines can be provided but Jill needs to know ahead of time. Jill can be reached via email, please contact the church office for this information.
