Stuffed Animal Sleepover 9.18-20.20

Even though we humans aren’t able to gather during this time of social distancing, stuffed animals still can! There will be a Stuffed Animal Sleepover at UU Canton the weekend of September 18-20. The sleepover will be chaperoned by Miss Panda and Mr Dog, two very responsible long-time members of UU Canton. They will post photos of the stuffies’ activities in the Stuffie Sleepover event on the UU Canton Facebook page. Dolls are welcome, too!Registration: Please register your stuffed animal in advance, so we can have a name tag for them. Use this online form – https://forms.gle/nVcVscJH5kjNNzhN8 .Drop-off: Please place your stuffed animal in a sturdy bag (like a paper grocery bag) with their name and your name on it. Drop them off at the back of UU Canton (near back entrance) on Friday, September 18, between 4 and 6 p.m. Please stay in your car and wait for Shelby Hunkins to come get the bag with your stuffie. Stuffies will then stay in quarantine overnight in the main RE space downstairs. If it’s impossible for you to drop off your stuffie on September 18, please email Shelby to arrange a drop-off time prior to Friday. If your stuffie is unable to physically attend the sleepover for any reason (immuno-compromised, out-of-area, nervous to sleep away from home, etc.) but still would like to attend, please fill out the registration form and email a picture of your stuffie to Shelby. The picture will be printed out and included in the sleepover in your stuffie’s place. The sleep-over will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 20. Miss Panda and Mr Dog will be the chaperones, and will post photos of their activities in the event on the church Facebook page late Saturday morning. The stuffed animals do fun things all day, spend the night, and will attend virtual worship on Sunday morning. Be sure to look for your stuffie during the Sunday service! Scroll through participants until you find the name “Church Sleepover Stuffies”.Pick-up: You can pick up your stuffed animal on Sunday, September 20, between 1 and 3 p.m. at the same place you dropped them off. Again, please stay in your car, and Shelby will bring your stuffie to your car, in their bag. We recommend that you leave your stuffed animal in quarantine for a day or two when you get home (don’t worry, we’ll give them some snacks to tide them over until they get out of quarantine). If it’s impossible for you to pick up your stuffie on September 20, please email Shelby to arrange a pick-up time on Wednesday, September 23.
