Religious Education 1.21.24

This Sunday, January 21 join us in religious education for nursery, a story about a lazy bear, learn about the Children’s Crusade during the civil rights era, explore the topics of gender identity and gender expression and a service project.

Our nursery will be open and staffed.

In Spirit Play, we will hear the story “Lazy Bear,” about a bear who learns a lesson from his friends.

In Faith Space, we will explore the idea that everyone has a gift to offer. We will hear a story about the “Children’s Crusade” during the Civil Rights Era. We will also create cards for our church elders.

In OWL, by building a chart defining biological sex, gender identity, gender expression, and sexual orientation, youth visualize the differences between sexual identity constructs. They will also explore their beliefs about gender-role expectations, and they critically evaluate gender-role messages they have received.

In Youth Group, we will do a service project for the church library and learn about all it has to offer.
