In Religious Education 11.24.19

This Sunday our children and youth will hear an Italian Christmas story about the search for the Baby King, explore the wonder and awe in unexpected places, paint cat nap boxes, explore attitudes about LGBQ orientations and make plans. 

Our RE Ambassador is Ron Tavernier. 

Nursery will be opened and staffed by Kathy Wyckoff and Kevin Ball. 

Spirit Play will hear “The Legend of Old Befana,” a delightful story of the favorite Italian Christmas story about an eccentric old woman and her never-ending search for the Baby King. 

Teachers: Sharon Tavernier and Maria Dickinson 

Love Will Guide Us will focus on the first Unitarian Universalist Source, expressed in children’s language as “the sense of wonder we all share.” Children will consider human nature, with a focus on the wonder and awe of finding beauty in unexpected places.  

Teachers: Eileen Wheeler and Jim Rudd

Maker Space will paint the cat nap boxes and make plans to deliver them to the Potsdam Humane Society.  Please wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty.  Smocks will be provided. 

Teachers: Karen Bage and Pete Wyckoff 

Jr High OWL will explore their attitudes about LGBQ orientations, define the terms sexual orientation, homophobia, biphobia and heterosexism and identify was to be allies to LGBQ people. 

Facilitators: Arthur Freeheart and Jim Williams 

Youth Group will explore the learnings from our guest speakers last week and make plans for a sleepover and other scheduling ideas.
