In Religious Education 1.7.18

This Sunday in religious education, our children and youth will creating chalices, hearing a story about sacred spaces, exploring the work of the UUSC, beginning Neighboring Faiths and celebrating the new year. 

This Sunday our RE Ambassador is Esther Katz.  

Nursery will be open and staffed by Coral Pondysh and TBA.  We will be creating chalices with modeling clay.  

Spirit Play will hear the story “A House for God.”   A story about sacred spaces. 

Teachers: Shelby Hunkins and Cara Coffin  

Moral Tales will be introduced to generosity as an important spiritual discipline and religious act that is a central component of justice and goodness.  They will hear the story “The Better Offer” and make their own play dough. 

Teachers: Eileen Wheeler and Kathy Wyckoff 

Maker Space will begin a exploring the UUSC program, Guest at Your Table and all the other projects the UUSC provides to the world.  They will explore the UUSC website and generate questions for the guest speaker they will be hearing from next week. 

Teachers: Heather Rousell and Pat Glover   

OWL/Neighboring Faiths will begin the Neighboring Faiths curriculum.  They will explore the question “What is Religion?” and will review the schedule for the remainder of the year.

Youth Group  will be celebrating the new year from different religions traditions.  Bring your coffee mug and invite a friend.  We will have coffee, tea and a traditional new year’s treat.
