In Religious Education 3.15.20

This Sunday our children and youth will hear a story about a brave ant, cultivate an “attitude of gratitude”, continue to create bee hotels, use a social justice approach for sexually transmitted infections and continue to plan a worship service.

Our RE Ambassador is Arthur Freeheart.

Nursery will be opened and staffed by Eden Terrell and Sara Hutcheson.

Spirit Play will hear the story “Hey Little Ant”, a violet principle story where we value the interdependence with nature.  A young boy and a brave ant talk about why the ant’s life might be important.

Teachers: Sharon Tavernier and Rebecca Pickens

Love Will Guide Us will cultivate an “attitude of gratitude” as a practice that leads to spiritual health and well-being. Children will talk about the importance of gratitude in their lives and explore how gratitude can feel, in our minds and in our bodies.

Teachers: Esther Oey and Becky VandeWater

Maker Space will continue to learn about community gardening and food security.  They will continue to create bee hotels for our pollinator and vegetable gardens.

Teachers: David Bradford and Miles Manchester

Jr High OWL will take a unique social justice approach during this class by reinforcing the following values: healthy sexual relationships are safe (i.e., they offer no or low risk of unintended pregnancy, sexually transmitted infections, and emotional pain); all persons have the right and obligation to make responsible sexual choices; and individuals are responsible for caring for their own sexual health and promoting the wellbeing of their partners, friends, and loved ones.

Facilitators: Todd Moe and Arthur Freeheart

Youth Group will continue to plan their worship service. Please bring your ideas.

Advisors: Carol Zimmerman and Julie VanDuyne
