Religious Education

In our Coming of Age program, we explore not only what it means to be Unitarian Universalist (UU), but what it means to be you. Over the course of a year, youth gather for fun workshops, retreats, justice projects, and rites of passage. With mentors and guides, participants explore what they believe, what they find meaningful, and how they want to be. With discussion, drama, music, writing, art, and more, Coming of Age marks the end of childhood and the beginning of maturity. Our Coming of Age program culminate with a trip to Boston as well as providing a Sunday service where each youth shares a Credo, a statement of their beliefs and values.

For the 2020- 2021 year, our Coming of Age class will begin in February 2021 and go through May 2021.  We will come together virtually with the two UU congregations in Syracuse, NY.  If you are interested in learning more about how to participate in this program, please email our Director of Religious Education, Carol Zimmerman at dre@uucantonny.org.
