Installation Offering To Benefits UU Funds

At our celebration of James’ installation on Sunday, April 30, all non-pledge offerings will be split between the Living Tradition Fund and the Meadville Lombard Tuition Aid fund.

James attended Meadville Lombard, one of two UU theological schools, and was a recipient of tuition aid. In fact, he was able to graduate with Master of Divinity without debt, largely because of the aid he received. The Living Tradition Fund was established in 1988 and over time it has become a tradition that “Ordination and Installation Services held in member societies include an offering” to the fund.

The Living Tradition Fund provides three types of support for ministry:

  • Need-based scholarships for theological students who have completed a full year of theological education
  • New minister assistance to reduce the burden of high educational debt and repayment
  • Grants to ministers for emergency assistance.

Please support these important funds as generously as you are able. If you would like to make a contribution but will not be in church for the installation, please send a check memo’ed “Installation Offering” to the church office (3 1/2 East Main Street, Canton, NY 13617).
