Sunday Sermon & Volunteers 4.2.17

In the Shadow of Olympia Brown
The Rev. James Galasinski

The Rev. Olympia Brown was the first woman to be ordained in the U.S. with full approval from a denomination. Brown graduated from St. Lawrence Theological School, was ordained in Malone, NY, in 1863, and preached at this church.  She not only had a successful parish ministry but went on to become a leading suffragist. With such a rich history in our backyard, where are we now on our path to gender equality?
