Community Volunteer Opps.

Here some some ways you can support other efforts that also need volunteers:

UShare
UShare is the congregation’s  social justice project. Its mission is to support and promote community efforts to grow, distribute, and enjoy wholesome locally grown food in the North Country.

Community Dinners

The Free Will Dinner in Canton is always in need of volunteers.  Dinner is prepared and served at the Canton United Methodist Church on the second, third, and fourth Wednesdays of the month. There is no charge for the meal but donations are welcome to help support the program. The UU Church of Canton is responsible for staffing the dinner at least twice a year. To find out how you can help with Canton’s Free Will Dinner program, contact Carlton Doane (386-4281).

Church and Community Program
The Church and Community Program was created by the seven churches of Canton to ensure that lower income residents of our community can obtain needed food, clothing, and other essentials. To find out how you can volunteer for the Church and Community Program, contact Catherine Mathews, Director (386-3534), or one of our church’s representatives on the CCP Board: Kathy Curro or Dick Morrow (Betsy Kepes is an alternate).

Campus Kitchens
St. Lawrence University and the UU Church of Canton began a new initiative in 2010 to serve a  free will meal at the church on Monday nights. For more information, contact Maria Corse.
