Need:

Hunger is a significant issue for many.  In St. Lawrence County -

o 17.5% of the people live in poverty, including 23.1% of the children
o 1,800 children are hungry with 6,800 more at risk

Two dozen food pantries distribute over 800,000 meals annually.

Mission:

U Share involves UU members in multiple activities in partnership with GardenShare to alleviate hunger by promoting the growth, distribution and consumption of wholesome, locally grown food in our area.
