Coming of Age is the celebration of the transition from childhood to youth – the time when people come of age. Coming of age should be a life changing process. We believe the key to changing lives is developing deep, authentic relationships. This begins with developing that deep relationship with the self, through inner reflection and inquiry, then between youth, mentors, facilitators, parents and the congregation.
Each COA youth choose an adult mentor from the congregation, who supports them in their process of coming of age.
Service, worship and fun are all part of the COA year, culminating in a trip to Boston, the city of our Unitarian Universalist roots.
This program is offered every other year, for our 8th and 9th grade students.
