Staff & Volunteers

One of the notable attributes of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Canton is the active participation of members in conducting church business.

About 80 percent of the our members serve on a church committee, participate in adult and youth choirs, ring bells, work in our UShare gardens, or teach in our Religious Education program.  Church Council, elected annually by the congregation, serves as the governing board of the Church.

Numerous volunteer committees are the backbone for church activities and services.  Volunteers are ably assisted by a dedicated church staff led by our Minister David Blanchard. Jan Hutslar directs our Religious Education program assisted by Natalie Panshin and Rebecca Rivers.  Nelly Case is our Music Director, including the roles of organist and conductor of  the Handbell Choir. Carol Strome directs the adult singing choir. Office Administrative Assistant Diana Richardson ably supports our efforts, along with custodian Louise Coughlin.

Working together, staff and volunteers ensure the vibrancy of our church not only for members, but for the North Country community and beyond.
