In Religious Education 10.1.17

This Sunday in religious education, our children and youth will play a matching game, hear a story about promises, consider conscience and its effect for goodness and justice, learn about journalism and reporting on pollinators, explore values and go hiking. 

This Sunday our RE Ambassador is Arthur Freeheart. 

Nursery will be open and staffed by Jennifer Sorensen and Kevin Ball.  We will play the Memory Match Game, a homemade version of the game “Concentration” with a UU twist.  

Spirit Play will hear the story “Promises”.  A story of our UU principles.  A reminder to parents and guardians, your child needs to be picked up from this class.  Class ends at 11:45am. 

Teachers: Wil Rivers and Lois Cutter 

Moral Tales will be introduced to their own conscience as an inner voice that can guide them to make choices that effect goodness and justice.  They will learn about the “moral compass” and hear the story “The Wise Teacher’s Test. 

Teachers: Jenn Whittaker and Kathy Wyckoff 

Maker Space will be learning to be newspaper reporters.  They will be researching details on pollinators  and making plans to interview members of our church community for an article they will be writing for our local newspapers and UU World.

Teachers: Ron Tavernier and Miles Manchester 

OWL/Neighboring Faiths will continue the Our Wholes lives curriculum.  They will be examining values through a value auction and voting. 

Teachers: Jan DeWaters and Jim Williams 

Youth Group will go hiking and discuss how you can find spirituality in nature.  They will depart church at 10:30am and return at 12:00pm.  Wear appropriate clothing and bring a water bottle.
